3 New School
Records, New Best Times and 2nd Highest Overall Finish at Boys
State Meet
Congratulations to the
Bainbridge High School Boys Swim & Dive team who placed
5th overall at the WIAA Boys High School State meet
today at King County Aquatic Center. This is a move up from
6th place last year and most importantly, the second
highest finish in the history of Bainbridge High School. This is an
incredible achievement and high commendations go to all athletes in
the team for this remarkable
result.
Two new school records
were set today : Andrew McCarthy placed 1st in the 500
Free with
an All-American Consideration time of 4:38.71 and a new record for
BHS. David Ortyn finished 2nd in the
100 fly with a time of 51.95 and another new record for BHS. David
also finished 4th in the 200 IM with a time of 1.56.77 and Andrew
set a new personal best of 1:44.82 placing 5th in the
200 Free.
Congratulations
to Colin Chupik who finished 4th in the 100 free with a time of
48.28. He also finished 10th in the 50 free with time of
22.45.
Congratulations
to Cody Jenkins who finished 10th in the 100 fly with a time of
54.21.
The
400 Free relay team comprising 4 BISC swimmers:
Andrew McCarthy, David Ortyn, Cody Jenkins and Colin Chupik placed
2nd and shattered the BHS school record by
2.5 seconds with a time of
3:14.88.

The
BHS Boys Swim & Dive team would like to thank the many BISC
members who came to the State Finals, cheering the team on to the
best state finish in
years.
